Food for thought

Welcome to my food blog!

After reading food blogs for many years, I have decided to take a stab at one of my own. I love food. Real, wholesome, delicious food. Food that nourishes the body, mind and soul. Eating is not only about the final product, aka the food we put in our mouth. It begins with seeds planted in the soil, with chickens on a farm. Whether we grow our own fruits and vegetables, pick out our produce from a Farmers Market or go to the nearest grocery store, the act of eating begins with this very important first step.... acquiring the ingredients. Eating is a physical, social, cultural and political act. The food we choose to eat impacts not only our body but also our neighborhoods, communities, environment and much much more. The more we know about the food we eat, the better we can understand how our food impacts all of these areas. After all, to eat foods that nourish the mind, body and soul is just simply delectable!

This blog will not be your typical food blog with mouthwatering pictures and recipes. Although it will contain plenty of these things, I also hope to have this become a domain for sharing thoughts and ideas about food, and most importantly, how to put thought into the food we eat.

Please email me with any ideas and/or questions that you may have! I would love to hear about your experiences with food. I am still new at this whole blog thing, but I also hope to create an area for you to post your own stories and ideas.

Thank you for stopping by!

Stay tuned... new recipes will be up in a few days!

“This magical, marvelous food on our plate, this sustenance we absorb, has a story to tell. It has a journey. It leaves a footprint. It leaves a legacy. To eat with reckless abandon, without conscience, without knowledge; folks, this ain't normal.”
